Info
Longos Kawayan Point was the most southern Point the Japanese landed at in Feb 1942. It is a considerable distance south of the other 3 points of the ’Battle of the Points’. If there hadn’t been any defense the enemy could have walked into Mariveles in half an hour. It is directly west of Mariveles town. Even the 12 inch mortars on Corregidor were used to eliminate this pocket. These 36 images are from my visit on the 5th Nov. 2009.
